Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to this website. Reading its content, opening a page, or using a search feature signals agreement with them. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. Oceana County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with any government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or any other use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, conducts official checks, or files documents for a visitor.

Its content routes readers to Oceana County Sheriff, the criminal courts, Michigan State Police, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Use site content for an unlawful purpose or to threaten, stalk, or harass
  • Rely on it for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any account or system
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated tools through the pages
  • Interfere with performance or another person's access
  • Violate federal, Michigan, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use this site's content or a linked tool to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against a person. Such conduct may be criminal. Michigan law places special limits on misuse of Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry data under MCL 28.728. The registry exists for public safety awareness, never vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A lawful check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider, not this site.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing published here is legal advice. General information about Oceana County records cannot resolve how a charge, conviction, warrant, or Michigan set-aside rule applies to one person. Seek a licensed Michigan attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • Partner search results will be complete, current, or correctly matched
  • Every fact on the site will remain accurate
  • The service will operate without interruption
  • Pages will contain no error, defect, or security weakness

Criminal records change as charges are filed, dismissed, corrected, or set aside. Gaps are unavoidable, and nothing here is an official statement from an Oceana County court, sheriff, or Michigan agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Michigan agencies, legal resources, and outside search providers. We do not control those services and accept no responsibility for their content, data practices, fees, or availability. Their own terms apply.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Oceana County Criminal History or its content partners. Written permission is required to copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative work from that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of this site, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, actions, demands, fees, and costs caused by your use of the site or breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Michigan law governs these terms. A dispute tied to use of this website must be brought in a court located in Michigan.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version becomes effective when it is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected term will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be sent through the Contact page.
